KANEMASA PHIL. 46G Artisan Shirt/ GREY
True to its name, the "Artisan" shirt is crafted with meticulous attention to every detail—from the raw materials and sewing to the dyeing process.
It is made using KANEMASA PHIL.'s proprietary "46G" super-high-gauge jersey knit, composed of 100% 80/1 recycled Suvin cotton.
The fabric undergoes a salt-shrinking process, creating a unique, distinctive crinkled texture found nowhere else. It is then garment-dyed.
A special softening dye process is applied to accentuate the fabric's natural drape and sheer quality.
Each piece is air-dried individually to preserve the material's unique texture.
Highly stretchable and incredibly comfortable to wear, this shirt features a new staple fabric that is perfect for throwing on effortlessly.
We have applied meticulous detailing to this high-gauge material—a fabric that is notoriously difficult to work with due to its thinness.
Crafted in Japanese sewing factories, the shirt features raw-edge finishes on the hem, sleeves, and pockets, as well as gathers at the yoke and cuffs. Its details are inspired by dress shirts, and it is finished with mother-of-pearl buttons.
The brand logo is engraved on the back of the buttons.
It features a boxy silhouette with a generous width, creating a unique drape and atmosphere when worn. By utilizing raw edges and minimizing the use of interlining, the silhouette is shaped solely by the fabric's natural texture.
*Salt-shrinking process: A treatment where chemicals penetrate the fabric to induce shrinkage, creating an uneven, textured surface.
*Please note that as organic cotton is used, minor contamination (specks of natural plant matter) may occur; this is a characteristic of the fabric.
*Due to the production process, slight fraying or damage may occur. These areas may expand with wear or washing; please handle with care.

KANEMASA PHIL. is a Japanese knitwear brand. Launched by Kanemasa Meriyasu, a long-established knitwear manufacturer based in Wakayama since 1964.
Guided by the concept of "Future Classic / Future Vintage," the brand utilizes high-density jersey fabrics across its entire product lineup—fabrics created through a combination of over 50 years of technical expertise and state-of-the-art, custom-made circular jacquard knitting machines.
With a proven track record of consistently supplying fabrics to high-end fashion houses both in Japan and abroad, the brand unveils its knitwear collections twice a year at the world’s premier textile trade shows: Première Vision in Paris and Milano Unica in Milan.
Starting with the 2023-24 Autumn/Winter season, the brand changed its name from "KANEMASA" to "KANEMASA PHIL."
