KANEMASA PHIL. 46G Stripe Ether Shirt/ WHITE BLUE
We have created a new style called "Ether." This open-collar design is available exclusively in a short-sleeve version.
The name was inspired by its silhouette—a modern fit that gently envelops the wearer.
It is crafted using a "super high-gauge" 46G knit structure that replicates the high-density plain weave of traditional typewriter cloth. It offers exceptional stretch and addictive comfort, while also being highly resistant to wrinkles and easy to care for. This is a "new standard" shirt fabric—combining crispness, luster, and easy-care properties—that only we could create.
The details reflect those of a dress shirt, featuring fully felled seams and genuine mother-of-pearl buttons. Thanks to the fabric's crispness and sheen, the oversized pattern avoids looking too casual; it is a unique "luxury-loose" shirt that fuses the dressy feel of the fabric with the casual vibe of the cut.
The yarn is made from fine-count (120/1) recycled Suvin cotton, twisted into a two-ply yarn. We use gassed yarn to enhance luster and minimize fuzzing after washing. High-crimp recycled nylon (50D) is incorporated to provide stretch. Starting this season, the brand logo is featured on the back of the buttons.
*Felled seams (maki-fuse hon-nui): A sewing method where the fabric edge is concealed; the fabric is stitched once, then folded over to cover the raw edge before being stitched a second time, ensuring a smooth feel against the skin.

KANEMASA PHIL. is a Japanese knitwear brand launched by Kanemasa Meriyasu, a long-established knit manufacturer founded in Wakayama in 1964.
Based on the concept of "Future Classic / Future Vintage," the brand utilizes high-density jersey fabrics—created through over 50 years of technical expertise and cutting-edge, custom-made Jacquard circular knitting machines—across its entire product lineup. The company boasts a track record of consistently supplying fabrics to high-end fashion houses both in Japan and abroad, and it unveils its knit collections twice a year at the world’s premier textile trade shows: Première Vision in Paris and Milano Unica in Milan.
Starting with the 2023–24 Autumn/Winter season, the brand name was changed from KANEMASA to KANEMASA PHIL.
